Supporting the next generation of plumbersHere at Bristan we’re all about inspiring and educating the next generation of plumbers.

We were delighted to help Chris Walling at Coleg Llandrillo in Wales who teaches adult apprentices to become plumbers.  We gifted his students some of our returned stock to give them hands-on experience with Bristan products.

This scheme benefitted both the students and Bristan. The students were able to get first-hand experience at using our latest products, without having to wait till they’re ‘on the job’.

We’re also able to get their feedback on the products which helps us make sure our products are customer inspired and as brilliant as they can be.

We caught up with Chris Walling, Apprentice Trainer at Coleg Llandrillo…

How do you use the Bristan products to train the apprentices?

The showers and taps that Bristan donated are perfect for demonstrations in class. In the practical workshop sessions, the students were able to strip the components down to replace the parts.

The wider the range of components we have for them to use the better as this helps to prepare them for what they may come across in the workplace.

How valuable are the Bristan products?

The components we usually have for maintenance tasks have had a hard life. They often come from a bathroom or kitchen that’s being replaced or from asking installers

if we can have their old taps and showers. Sometimes the apprentices are using products that can be at least 20- or 30-years old. Therefore, having the items from Bristan means we have products that are current and more relevant to the appliances they’ll be installing once they’re qualified.

We spoke to student, Isaac Jones, who told us: “The showers and taps that Bristan has donated to Coleg Llandrillo helped me massively.  They are more relevant to the appliances I install, compared to the old stock the collage previously had”.

We’re delighted to work with collages like this one to inspire and educate the next generation of plumbers and help them gain valuable experience that they can then take to their future workplace.
