What's new at BristanNew designs and new finishes available now

When the team at Seagrave Developments were choosing the brassware for a new-build retirement complex in Wellingborough, the high-end specification for the luxury apartments had to be contemporary yet accessible to attract design-conscious retirees. So to add a modern twist to the bathrooms and kitchens, Seagrave chose a selection of Bristan brassware products with clean lines and bold angles.

Seagrave Development

Background

Seagrave Developments is an independent property developer and construction company based in Northamptonshire, with a reputation for outstanding build quality and customer service. Seagrave’s latest development ‘Hatton Mews’ – an upmarket retirement complex in the heart of Wellingborough, offering 30 luxury one and two-bed apartments.

Tim Linnell, Project Co-ordinator at Seagrave Developments said: “When considering the specification for Hatton Mews, we desired brassware which was very much design-led as our clientele, although retired, are of a generation where style is important. The taps and showers also needed to be simple and intuitive in design.”

Modern

So, when it came to the bathroom spec for the Zu development in Nuneaton, they were keen to see what fresh ideas Bristan could offer, having been very happy with their products in the past.

Wayne Best, Quantity Surveyor at AR Cartwright Homes, commented: “We had used Bristan’s Cobalt brassware on other developments and were really happy with the quality and performance of the taps. We wanted something a bit different for the 29-home Zu development and approached Bristan to see what they could offer.

Quadrato Bar Shower‘Bristan showed us a preview of the new Frenzy range, which was a few months away from being launched. We loved the design at first sight – it was really on trend, with a curvy industrial design and a high quality chrome finish. The Frenzy style also complemented the silhouette of our sanitaryware for a seamless interior design. It was exactly what we were looking for.’

Peace of Mind

Seagrave has historically used Bristan on its own developments, in particular the Quadrato shower.

Tim continued: “The Quadrato shower is a product we’ve used for many years on various developments, although this was the first time we’d chosen it for a retirement scheme. We like the look of it, it’s easy to use and the fact that it’s thermostatic is great for the end user, as it reduces the risk of scalds.”

The Quadrato shower is a modern, angular-designed exposed bar shower with separate controls for water temperature and flow. The chrome unit offers a luxurious showering experience, and comes with or without a diverter handset to offer specifiers more choice.

Tim said: “We were keen to continue the angular theme throughout the shower room brassware specification, so Bristan suggested the Cobalt basin mixer taps to complement the Quadrato shower. These were perfect for the job both aesthetically and from a practical point of view.”

Contemporary Finish

Cobalt Basin MixerLike the Quadrato, the Cobalt basin mixer taps are chrome and feature strong lines and square angles for a contemporary finish to any bathroom. They have flexible tails so they are easy to install and come with a 5-year guarantee for added peace of mind.

To complete the specification for the Hatton Mews’ apartments, Seagrave Developments chose Bristan’s Cherry taps for the kitchen. The Cherry tap has a delicate design and sleek, flat spout for a designer look but without the price tag. Available in chrome or brushed nickel, the angular tap has lever handles for a continuity of product and design throughout the property.

Tim said: “We come back to Bristan time and again because we know they offer attractive, well-built products and at a great price. Normally in housebuilding you tend to find expensive brand taps in larger houses, however Bristan give us the confidence to use their products across the board, whether it’s one of our own high-spec developments, or a Housing Association’s rental specification.

Imaginative specification

Michael Jones, Area Specification Manager from Bristan said: “There are many advantages of ordering from a single supplier, as Seagrave Developments has discovered. We have the breadth of range to give our commercial clients the scope to create imaginative specifications in bathroom, cloakroom and kitchen spaces, and we back it all up with first rate product quality, customer service and after-sales support.”
