BUILDING ENGINEERING BUSINESS SURVEY HIGHLIGHTS THE CHALLENGE OF INEFFICIENT PROJECT SUPPLY CHAINS

Following a difficult 2018, the latest Building Engineering Business Survey indicates signs of recovery for the building services sector, but delays in supply chains remain an issue.
Compiled from 442 member companies of four industry trade associations, including the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), the Scottish electrical contractors association (SELECT) and the Scottish & Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers Federation (SNIPEF), the survey revealed that 75% of respondents had either maintained or grown their turnover since the last quarter of 2018.
However, despite the positive headline the survey also revealed ongoing issues with payment retention and slow supply chains. At Bristan, we understand the complexities of balancing project budgets and that fast and efficient purchasing of products can help to mitigate the risk of delay within the supply chain.

KEEP PROJECTS FLOWING

With tight project deadlines, contractors need to be able to access products quickly and efficiently. Availability of products, fast delivery and ongoing after care is how we help to keep projects moving. Backed up by next day delivery, our industry leading distribution service and nationwide network of merchants ensure that products are readily available for contractors, to meet their specific project requirements.
The Building Engineering Business Survey also highlights the importance of effective time management within construction projects. Supply chain delays can exasperate a notoriously time poor industry. Contractors need products that are easy and quick to install to increase productivity and support installers and engineers to achieve more in less time.
Ease of installation is a key focus in the design of Bristan products, for example our Wallmount 12 bar shower mounting bracket is easy fit, retrofit and maintain, featuring front of wall valves that enable isolation of the water supply with the turn of a screw.

VALUE FOR MONEY

The study of also noted the increasing pressure on contractors to manage stringent budgets, as the cost of materials continue to rise. To complete a project on time and within budget, contractors need reliable products that balance compliance and safety with cost and efficiency.
This is particularly true bathroom product procurement. At Bristan our HTM64 compliant range has been designed to offer exceptional levels of safety and performance and with every product covered by a no-nonsense guarantee.
