The Bristan apprentice hall of fame!

During #NationalApprenticeshipWeek we’ve been asking plumbers far and wide to nominate an apprentice who they think deserves a shout out. Often the apprentice of the site goes unnoticed but for this week we’re putting them center stage.

Elliot Brunt-Murphy for #NationalApprenticeshipWeek Thanks to everyone who submitted their nominations and after some difficult shortlisting, here is the 2020 Bristan Apprentice Hall of Fame:

Elliot Brunt-Murphy (left) has been nominated by Stuart Adams (SPS Plumbing and Heating), based in Swindon, for all of his hard work and achievements throughout his apprenticeship.

Stuart says: “Elliot has just finished his level 3 and has flown through it all – near the top of his class!”
“Elliot has autism so this is a massive achievement for him personally.”

Tony Smith for #NationalApprenticeshipWeek
Tony Smith (on the left in the image to the right) has been nominated by Pollard Plumbing Services for his dedication to his work, and everything he’s achieved in the 11-month apprenticeship so far.

Pollard Plumbing Services says: “My apprentice, Tony Smith, has worked with me since March 19 and I haven’t looked back since!

We keep each-others spirits up during the bad days, he has to drive about an hour to and from work each day – and he’s never late. He’s never called in sick, and I can leave him on a job and I know he will complete it!”

Connor Wells for #NationalApprenticeshipWeek
Connor Wells (left), has been nominated by Mike Abbess, @Mike_the_Cambridge_Plumber, for going from a troublemaking youngster to a reliable and hardworking young man.

Mike says: “He’s a level 3 apprentice, very hard grafter. He works that hard I once caught him sleeping on the way home from a job! He’s even working with me this weekend."

Taneisha De Gruchy Lia Whitnell and Hannal Wilcox for #NationalApprenticeshipWeek
Taneisha De Gruchy, Lia Whitnell and Hannah Wilcox (right), have all been nominated by Bryony Price on the Bristan On Tap Plumbers Facebook Group.

These awesome ladies have been nominated by Bryony Price on the Bristan On Tap Plumbers Facebook group for being part of the new generation of female plumbing apprentices in Jersey.

Bryony says: “After being the solo female plumber here for around 20 years, I am beyond proud seeing these ladies make their mark.

“Ignore the weirdo in the orange shirt on the left (me), but from left to right we have Taneisha De Gruchy, Lia Whitnell and Hannah Wilcox, who was actually nominated last October for the ‘Start of the Future’ Award at the Jersey Construction Council Awards! I’m super proud of these ladies.”
